Business and enterprise was shown to be alive and well at the most recent MOCC (Mayo Open Coffee Club) meeting held at the Innovation in Business Centre, GMIT, Castlebar, where a number of enterprise support representatives passed on vital information to more than 40 entrepreneurial thinkers who turned up for the event.

Budding entrepreneurs will be provided with an extraordinary opportunity to test, develop and grow their business through the “Enterprise Acceleration Programme” commencing this month. The intensive programme, which provides entrepreneurs with a wide-range of training, mentoring and advice, over a four-month period, is funded by South West Mayo Development Company [LEADER] and operated through the Innovation in Business Centre [IiBC] at GMIT Castlebar.

The Innovation Centre at GMIT Castlebar along with South West Mayo Development Company are to launch their new Small Medium Enterprise Programme (now called the Enterprise Accelerator Programme) in July 2012.

South West Mayo Development Company will be presenting its range of grant aid and business supports in Claremorris (McWilliam Park Hotel) and Ballinrobe (The Valkenburg) on February 20 and 22.

South West Mayo Development Company is holding a series of information clinics on grant and business supports in February as follows: February 13, Castlebar, the Harlequin Hotel; February 15, Westport, Hotel Westport; February 20, Claremorris, McWilliam Park Hotel and February 22, Ballinrobe, The Valkenburg, from 8pm to 9.30pm.

Lorraine Toner from Castlebar is teaching zumba fitness classes two evenings a week in Castlebar as well as zumba workshops for hen parties and birthdays.
